    Natalia Ralets

    Head of the Infectious DiseasesDepartment

The Infectious Diseases Department is located in a separate two-story building, which has an administrative extension, an underground connection with the central building of the hospital and a catering unit. On the first floor there is an anesthesiology and intensive care unit for infectious patients, equipped with six boxes and a separate sanitary pass, which allows for isolation and control over the spread of infections. The total bed capacity of the department is 75 beds, and if necessary, the hospital can be expanded to 100 beds.

Special attention is paid to the treatment of dangerous infectious diseases – a special zone was organized in box № 11 for the hospitalization of cholera patients.

Since 1981, a leptospirosis center has been operating at the department, and since 2013, a temporary hospital for hospitalization of patients with polio, flaccid paralysis, and other infectious diseases of international importance.

The Infectious Diseases Department is the clinical base of the Department of Infectious Diseases of the Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education. Under the leadership of Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Duda O.K., educational and scientific activities are conducted here, which contribute to the development of new methods of diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases.

The Department provides emergency medical care to patients with acute infectious diseases.

The Department has full access to clinical, biochemical and bacteriological laboratories located in the central building of the hospital, and also cooperates with specialized diagnostic centers in Kyiv for additional research. The combination of modern equipment, highly qualified staff and effective treatment methods allows us to provide the best level of care to patients with infectious diseases.
